And now, as ye are desirous to come unto the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another's burdens, that they may be light; Yea, and mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and have their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another. (The Book of Mormon, Mosiah 18:8-9, 15)

A silly fun tradition in our family is that when someone is leaving our home after a visit we run after the car (we are on the sidewalk). As we are running, we wave all the way. It is a fun way to send off friends and family that we will miss. m
Growing up, one of my favorite traditions was driving up to the hills and going on a cook-out for holidays (Labor Day and Memorial Day). Sometimes we'd invite friends, but we'd always take hot dogs or tin foil dinners; and of course, marshmallows. We would help gather the wood for the fire; go for walks, and then play a rousing game of wiffle ball or hide-and-seek. I loved the smell of the pine trees and finding all of the obsidian nearby.
I'm big on traditions and thought that this would be easy, but as I sit and try to think, I'm a little stumped. Hmmmm, oh wait, one thing we do every year with my husbands side of the family is go to Lake Powell for a week. The kids LOVE it and my three year old just told me the other day that he wanted to go to Lake Powell. I didn't even think he could remember from the last time we were there. I guess he did. The thing I think they like is just the way everyone is so relaxed, just hangin out. Fun times with family.
We have a yearly extended family easter BBQ breakfast at a lake near my parents - my small children so look forward to this, egg hunts and the eggs filled with symbols of jesus cruxifiction

I read nightly to my kids, they have a monthly daddy daughter date (i have 3 daughters so that takes up each of my husbands saturdays)- They only last 2-3 hours but they get to choose - he has been lip gloss shopping, museums, bikeriding etc... but really I tell people about this and most are shocked and think my husband is soo nice.. but really we added it up and our 8 year old daughter will only have like 300 hours alone with him in her whole life in these dates... it isnt much really
sorry, not being big headed here, just thought I could give you some ideas... I love traditions and you probably have them.. you just forget they are traditions.. and i will stop cause I could go on and on
